We welcome cheques, postal orders and charity vouchers by post. For more details see our Contact PageWe also appreciate it when supporters give by standing order, since this provides a regular income and is simple for us to administer.  If you want to support RTU regularly this is probably the easiest way for you as well!  Email or ring us (see above right) to request a standing order form, or download a pdf format copy by clicking here.
Or you can support us by giving online now, using your credit or debit card. This facility is provided via JustGiving, and you can go to our JustGiving donations page by clicking here or on the JustGiving logo.

One of the ways you can help is by sponsoring a child. We would be very grateful for your help in caring for these children as nearly every week a new child arrives:
Sponsoring a child: £180 annually or £15 monthly
This amount helps to cover the cost of food and all other essentials for one child. You will be sent a photograph of the child that you are sponsoring along with a case history of the child. You can choose if you would like to sponsor a boy or a girl and which age range. We will keep you informed about the child if you wish and send you fresh photos and a report at the end of each year.
Sponsoring a student: at least £240 annually or £20 monthly
RTU supports its children from age 18 through professional studies - the final step in a route out of the deprivation they came from, and enabling them to fulfil their potential and take a rightful place in the community. Costs vary widely; here are some examples:

Auxiliary Nurse Midwife,  1½ or 2 years, total cost from £350 (£20/month).

Medical Lab Technician,  1½ years, from £400 (£22/month).

Motor Mechanic, Fitter, Electrician, 2 years, from £550 (£23/month). .

General Nursing & Midwifery, 3 or 3½ years, £1600-£2300 (eg typically £43/month)

Pharmacy or other Polytechnic course, 3 years, from £1900 (£53/month).

MBBS – a full medical qualification, 5 years, from £3700 (£62/month).

If you sponsor a student for a minimum of £20/month, we will send you details of at least one young person from an RTU Children's Village you are helping towards a worthwhile career. For more information, download our 'Sponsor a Student' leaflet by clicking here.

We also run a sponsorship programme for the elderly and disabled.
Sponsoring an OAP or disabled person: £96 annually or £8 monthly
The cost covers a basic monetary allowance paid each month to the needy person, a new set of clothing given each year before the Divali festival, and any necessary medical care.  We will provide you with some information about how your money is used, and and a photo of one of the elderly people who are benefiting.  From time to time we will send an update and a personal story, but we cannot provide a one-to-one link in the same way as for sponsoring a child.
The easiest way to sponsor is by setting up a standing order with us. If you would like to be sent a standing order form or if you would like further information about any of the sponsorship programmes do email or ring us (see above right).
£650 will build a new family house in a village, and £350 will pay for a tube well and hand-pump for typically 45 families.
